Organizing Idea: Storage Bags

The last time I made a post (it was last month, LOL!), I talked about how I organized my accessories. Now, I want to share with you another storage idea.

Living in an apartment, I don't have much storage space. The closet space isn't really enough to store all my clothes, so when the seasons change I switch my clothes out. I found these Jumbo Blanket Storage Bags, and I use them to store all my Summer clothes (I am just so psyched for the cold weather that I decided to just take out all my Fall and Winter stuff, LOL!).

These are lifesavers, I am so happy that I found these. And I actually want to get more because as you all can attest to, we can never have enough clothes; and hence, we will always be in need of storage space. ;]

Where do you store your accessories?

When I first started working on my blog, I mentioned that I would keep you peeps updated with my efforts to make my humble apartment into one organized and pretty home.

I started with my room, and I am pretty much done with it. 

I just wanna share with you how I will store my accessories. I keep my necklaces in a drawer, but it's not ideal because they get tangled. So, I got these 7-Hook Racks with Mounting Screws at Wal-Mart. 

I put them on the bare wall by my closet and that is where my necklaces and bangles will be stored once I get around to organizing them, LOL.

This is a really great buy! I think I shall get more, I'm sure I'll think of more ways to use them for.

I still have to organize my accessories, but here are some of my inspirations so you can see:

August has been a whirlwind, I don't even know what date it is today, LOL!

I need a last summer trip before summer actually ends. But since that would actually cost a significant amount of money, I think a trip to the movies would suffice. ;]

Thought Catalog: An End-Of-Summer Checklist

So, I was reading an article on Thought Catalog entitled An End-Of-Summer Checklist and here are some of the things on the list that I was able to do:

2. Saw fireworks, preferably over a body of water.

9. Drank an iced coffee too slowly, until it was more like a glass of water with a little bit of coffee-flavor at the bottom.

10. Swam around in a pool, pretending to be a mermaid when you thought no one was looking.

20. Drank far too many margaritas, because they are so deceptively sweet — the Slurpee of Grown Ups!

21. Dreaded the moment that August comes, but were at least a bit relieved that the heat will soon be breaking.

To the beach!

It's the weekend and I am off to the beach once more!

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby has always been one of my favorites.

I read it way before I had to and I saw the movies (one was with Mia Farrow and the other one was with Mira Sorvino), so I guess it's understandable that I am super psyched to see the 2012 version with the lovely Carrie Mulligan, my favorite Toby Maguire, and the ever-so-dashing Leo DiCaprio!

Ikea

I am still all about my home decor and home organizing efforts, so I am going to Ikea this weekend to get on it.

I want to start with my room and then work my way around the apartment.

1) GARNITYR Storage with 7 compartments, beige, white flower, $14.99

This is gonna be perfect for my closet, I seriously need more space. And I will also get the 2) boxes that come with it:



They sell the set of 7 boxes for $12.99.

3) GARNITYR Shoe box, beige, white flower, $8.99/2pack



I am still unsure about these shoe boxes, but these would look great with the closet storage and boxes.

4) BAGIS Clothes-hanger, black, $0.99/4pack



I need new hangers too and these are uber affordable!

These are the ones on my list, but I probably won't be able to stick with just these, you know what happens when we let loose in Ikea! :P

Pinteresting Apartments

Like everyone else these days I am so addicted to Pinterest. I spend hours on end on that website!

One of the first things that screams grown-up is getting your own place.

My favorite thing to search on Pinterest is "apartments". Some of my faves are:



Oh how I wish I can make my apartment look like all of that!

Just white walls with minimal decor. I want to start getting into home decor though.

Insomnia strikes...

Insomnia strikes once more. It's 1:10am and I cannot sleep, so I thought why not go ahead and do something I've been meaning to do for quite some time now and that is to start my own blog.

I literally have no idea what to say right now, but I'll take a whack at it.

So basically, I'm a twenty-something lady who's trying to figure out what to do with her life. I named my blog Raising Miss Ryan because I am sort of "raising" myself in a way and I guess I kind of want to capture that here on my blog. Besides all the life stuff though, I want to also talk about beauty and fashion like a proper blogger! =)

So I guess I'll end this here. Hopefully I can gather more inspiration to write more interesting posts.
